Biến điện thoại Android thành điểm phát sóng Wifi

Với một chiếc điện thoại Android, bạn có thể truy cập Internet trên máy tính của bạn bằng cách thức có tên Tethering. Với cách này, bạn sẽ kết nối điện thoại của bạn thông qua cáp USB vào máy tính của mình, sử dụng công nghệ kết nối dữ liệu của điện thoại để duyệt web trên máy tính của bạn. Đây được xem là giải pháp vô cùng hữu ích cho những nơi không có điểm phát sóng Wifi.

Tuy nhiên, có một phương pháp hữu ích đó là biến điện thoại của bạn thành một điểm phát sóng Wifi (hotspot) để máy tính của bạn có thể truy cập Internet mà không cần phải sử dụng cáp kết nối. Nó cũng giúp bạn có thể chia sẻ kết nối Internet của điện thoại với nhiều máy tính khác nhau.

Lưu ý: Để sử dụng cách thức biến điện thoại Android thành một điểm phát sóng Wifi, bạn cần nâng cấp lên phiên bản Android 2.2 (mã Froyo).

Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether
Đầu tiên, bạn cần tiến hành tải ứng dụng có tên Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether được cung cấp hoàn toàn miễn phí tại địa chỉ http://tinyurl.com/22q7uy6 hoặc http://tinyurl.com/2b6ss8n
Sau khi cài đặt Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether vào điện thoại của bạn vào điện thoại của bạn, bạn sẽ thấy một biểu tượng “Start” lớn ở trên đầu màn hình làm việc. Đây là nút cho phép bạn kích hoạt tính năng chia sẻ mạng không dây cho điện thoại, nhưng cách tốt nhất là bạn nên thiết lập mật khẩu trước khi tiến hành bắt đầu chia sẻ mạng Wifi.

Các tùy chọn mã hóa không dây WEP 40-bit hoặc 104-bit (ít an toàn hơn WPA), nhưng nó vẫn còn rất quan trọng để mã hóa việc duyệt web của bạn bằng cách thiết lập một mật khẩu ở đây.

Cuối cùng, bạn có thể thay đổi các thiết lập kênh nếu bạn thấy rằng bạn không thể kết nối với điện thoại từ máy tính của bạn.

Sau khi cài đặt ứng dụng vào điện thoại, bạn sẽ thấy logi Wifi màu xanh lá cây xuất hiện trên thanh chức năng của màn hình Android.

Từ màn hình làm việc, bạn click chuột lên Menu và Setup, bạn có thể thay đổi các tùy chọn sau:
- Option to use Bluetooth instead of Wi-Fi
- Wi-Fi encryption settings
- SSID settings
- Option to change the Wi-Fi frequency channel
- Enabling Access Control
- Notification settings

Cũng như Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether quan trọng là phải tiến hành đặt một tên SSID dễ nhớ và sử dụng một mật khẩu mạnh.

Ngoài ra, nó rất hữu ích để bật Access Control. Tùy chọn này cho phép bạn quyết định xem bạn muốn một máy tính cụ thể để kết nối hay không.

Sau khi bạn đã thực hiện những thay đổi thích hợp cho các tùy chọn, trở lại màn hình chính và bấm vào biểu tượng Wi-Fi màu xanh. Các ứng dụng sẽ bắt đầu phát sóng một tín hiệu không dây.

Tiếp theo, bạn tiến hành dùng máy tính của bạn để kết nối vào mạng Wifi đang phát, bạn sẽ thấy mạng này xuất hiện trong thông báo của điện thoại sử dụng Android.

Tuy nhiên, nếu kết nối không được hoàn tất, bạn phải tiến hành cấp quyền truy cập máy tính của bạn để kết nối dữ liệu với điện thoại, bạn phải nhấp vào tên máy tính của bạn trong bảng thông báo cho phép truy cập trên điện thoại của bạn.

Một khi máy tính của bạn được kết nối đúng với sóng Wifi, quá trình làm việc sẽ bắt đầu truyền tải dữ liệu. Để ngăn chặn tín hiệu không dây, bạn click vào biểu tượng Wi-Fi màu xám.

Nhìn chung, cả 2 ứng dụng đều hoạt động tương tự như nhau, tuy nhiên việc Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether được cung cấp trên kho ứng dụng AppBrain đâm ra là khó khăn trong việc cập nhật so với Android Wi-Fi Tether vốn được cung cấp trên Google.

Tạo file PDF từ một văn bản Word

PDF (Portable Document Format, định dạng tài liệu di động) là một định dạng văn bản do Adobe System đưa ra hồi năm 1993 nhằm tạo thuận tiện cho nhu cầu trao đổi văn bản. Ngày nay, PDF đã trở thành một định dạng văn bản phổ cập và không còn là một định dạng độc quyền của Adobe nữa.

Việc tạo một file PDF giờ đây cũng trở nên đơn giản, không còn phụ thuộc vào các công cụ ứng dụng của Adobe. Ngay trong Microsoft Word 2007 cũng được tích hợp công cụ để tạo file PDF từ một văn bản Word.

Để chuyển một văn bản Word thành file PDF, bạn mở văn bản Word đó ra, nhấn lên nút Office, chọn lệnh Save As trên menu xổ xuống, rồi chọn lệnh PDF or XPS trong danh sách Save a copy of the document.

Trên màn hình Publish as PDF or XPS, bạn chọn folder lưu giữ file PDF sắp tạo, đặt tên file PDF đó.

Bạn có thể chọn Optimize for (tối ưu hóa cho): Standard (xuất bản online và in ấn) hay Minimum size (kích thước file tối thiểu, chỉ dùng sử dụng trên Internet).

Bạn cũng có thể nhấn nút Options… để chọn các tùy chọn theo ý mình.

Cuối cùng, bạn nhấn nút Publish để tạo thành file PDF.

Chơi nhiều file nhạc với Windows Media Player

Khi bạn click kép vào một file nhạc nào đó trong một cửa sổ Explorer (như Computer, Windows Explorer), trình Windows Media Player (WMP) tích hợp sẵn trong Windows sẽ được gọi ra chơi nhạc cho bạn nghe. Nhưng mặc định nó chỉ chơi file nhạc đó rồi thôi. Muốn nghe tiếp file nhạc nào, bạn lại phải click kép lên file đó.

Nếu muốn cho WMP 11 (Windows Vista) và WMP 12 (Windows 7) tự động chơi lần lượt các file nhạc mình muốn nghe lần này, bạn click chuột lên nút Switch to Library trên góc trên bên phải cửa sổ WMP để mở tới thư viện nhạc.

Bạn sẽ thấy tên file đang chơi xuất hiện trong danh sách Unsaved list. Bây giờ, bạn dùng trinh Explorer mở tới folder chứa các file nhạc muốn nghe, nhân giữ phím Ctrl (để chọn từng file riêng rẽ) hay nhấn giữ phím Shift (để chọn một nhóm file liên tục), rồi dùng trỏ chuột kéo nhóm file đó thả vào danh sách của WMP.

Bây giờ, trong danh sách Unsaved list của WMP đã có tên các file nhạc bạn mới thả vào. WMP sẽ ngoan ngoãn chơi lần lượt các bản nhạc đó cho bạn thưởng thức.

Ở WMP 9 và 10 (Windows XP), bạn chỉ việc mở một trình Explorer để duyệt tới folder chứa các file nhạc rồi chọn và kéo thả chúng vào danh sách WMP.

Nếu muốn nghe một lần thôi để lần khác chọn những bản nhạc khác, bạn cứ để cho WMP chơi bình thường.

Còn nếu muốn tạo một danh sách riêng cho các bản nhạc này để sau này dễ gọi lại, ở WMP 11 và 12, bạn chỉ việc nhấn lên dòng Unsaved list rồi đặt tên cho nhóm bản nhạc này. Ở WMP 9, bạn nhấn lên menu File và chọn lệnh Save playlist as.

Sau này, khi muốn chơi nhóm bản nhạc này, bạn chỉ việc chọn nó trong danh sách Playlists của WMP.

Dù sự cố trong đêm thi Người đẹp biển hôm qua, trong trang phục áo tắm tự chọn, vận động viên bóng chuyền này đã bị MC quên xướng tên. Nhưng với bản lĩnh và sự tự tin, Nguyễn Thị Loan đã chinh phục được ban giám khảo.

Nguyễn Thị Loan hiện là sinh viên ĐH Thương Mại, cao 1,74m, nặng 55kg với số đo ba vòng: 89 – 64 – 91. Không được chú ý đặc biệt từ những vòng ngoài nhưng Loan lại thu hút người đối diện bởi một vẻ mộc mạc, khỏe khoắn. Ngay sau khi đăng quang, khi được các phóng viên vây quanh, cô cũng chia sẻ hết sức bất ngờ với danh hiệu này.

Sinh ra trong gia đình nhà nông ở xã Hồng Châu, huyện Tiền Hải, Thái Bình, bố mẹ cao 1m64, nhưng Loan và cậu em trai lại nhanh chóng phát triển chiều cao từ những năm cấp 2. Năm học lớp 8, cô khăn gói lên Hà Nội gia nhập vào đội bóng chuyền trẻ thủ đô với vị trí chủ công. Bạn Check chọn những mục cần tối ưu rồi nhấp nút Optimize Now để quá trình bắt đầu, chương trình sẽ yêu cầu bạn khởi động lại máy tính để quá trình hoàn tất.

* Lưu ý: sau khi thực hiện bạn phải khởi động lại máy thì những tác động của chương trình mới phát huy tác dụng.

2. Registry Defrag: thanh lý và chống phân mảnh cho bảng cấu hình hệ thống Registry nhằm giải phóng dung lượng ổ cứng và tăng tốc máy tính đến mức tối đa có thể (gồm 3 bước: tối ưu hoá, chống sụ phân mảnh, khởi động lại hệ thống để cảm nhận sự khác biệt).

C. Thẻ Advanced Tools

1. Data Recovery: giúp phục hồi lại các dữ liệu đã xoá mất khỏi ổ cứng trong thời gian gần đây, các dữ liệu đã mất từ lâu thậm chí do định dạng đĩa cứng (theo lời của nhà sản xuất)

a. Nhấp chọn nút Click here to Start data Recovery.

b. Nhấp chọn phân vùng chứa dữ liệu cần phục hồi, lựa chọn kiểu phục hồi tương ứng (Quick: dữ liệu gần đây, Full: dữ liệu đã lâu, Unformatting Scan: dữ liệu mất do quá trình Format).

c. Danh sách các file dữ liệu có thể phục hồi sẽ được chương trình liệt kê trong cửa sổ kế tiếp, để phục hồi bạn nhấp phải vào tập tin và chọn Recover this one (lưu ý thường quá trình Quick Scan ít cho tìm thấy dữ liệu cần phục hồi, kinh nghiệm cho thấy chỉ những tập tin dữ liệu nào mà chương trình dò tìm được ở trạng thái very good thì sau khi phục hồi mới tái sử dụng được )

2. IE Manager: cho phép thiết lập và sửa chữa một số cấu hình cho trình duyệt IE trên hệ thống như: cố định thay đổi trang Homepage, sửa chữa tiêu đề trình duyệt, vô hiệu hoá một số thao tác nhằm tăng tính an toàn và bảo mật khi sử dụng… (đánh dấu chọn vào mục tương ứng rồi nhấp nút công cụ Repair, xem hình 6)

3. Startup Manager: giúp quản lý các chương trình chạy nền khi khởi động Windows, từ đây bạn có thể dễ dàng theo dõi và thanh lý sự hiện diện của các tiến trình lạ do virus tạo ra nếu có bằng cách chọn tiến trình rồi nhấp nút công cụ Delete Entry.

4. Uninstall Manager: cho phép theo dõi và quản lý các chương trình được cài đặt trên hệ thống (từ đây bạn có thể thanh lý dễ dàng các chương trình mà mình không thể gỡ bỏ được bằng chức năng Add/Remove programs thông thường).

5. System Tools: cho phép gọi nhanh các ứng dụng hệ thống của windows như registry, Msconfig, Direcx …

Bí kíp tăng thời lượng pin cho iPhone

Điện thoại iPhone giờ đây là niềm mơ ước của nhiều người nhưng khiếm khuyết lớn nhất của dòng máy này chính là thời lượng pin.

Tăng thời lượng pin cho iPhone để có những trải nghiệm thú vị hơn.

Người dùng iPhone cứ ngỡ phần mềm iOS 4 đã giải quyết được vấn đề về thời lượng pin đúng như những lời Apple quảng cáo. Tuy nhiên, thực tế không phải luôn là màu hồng. Với hệ điều hành iOS4, Apple đã bổ sung nhiều tính năng mới được chờ đợi từ 3 phiên bản trước đây. Tính năng quan trọng nhất là đa nhiệm (multitasking), cho phép người dùng chạy cùng lúc nhiều ứng dụng, như Pandora, Skype, và định vị GPS, hay thậm chí là chạy các chương trình nền trong khi đang duyệt web hoặc gọi điện.

Ngày ra mắt iOS4, Apple cho biết phần mềm mới nhất của hãng sẽ giúp kéo dài thời lượng pin cho điện thoại. Một số người dùng cũng ghi nhận sự tiến bộ của nó, tuy nhiên, mọi chuyện phức tạp hơn chúng ta tưởng. Rất nhiều người dùng phàn nàn pin của iPhone nhanh bị hết hơn khi sử dụng iOS4 mặc dù đã hạn chế chức năng multitasking chỉ cho chạy một số chương trình.

Hiện còn quá sớm để kết luận liệu thời lượng pin có bị ảnh hưởng bởi chức năng multitask hay là do các ứng dụng của bên thứ 3 “ngốn” nhiều điện năng. Mặc dù các tính năng của iPhone 4 đều được cải tiến để tăng tối đa thời lượn pin nhưng thực tế không có nhiều khác biệt giữa iPhone 4 và iPhone 3GS.

Hãy cùng thử nghiệm các mẹo nhỏ sau đây để tăng thời lượng pin cho iPhone:

Tắt chức năng báo (push notification): Đây có lẽ là “thủ phạm” ngốn nhiều pin nhất trên iPhone. Vì một vài lý do nào đó, các hãng phát triển ứng dụng thứ 3 rất thích kích hoạt chức năng thông báo trên iPhone.

Tắt chức năng push e-mail: Thực tế thì người dùng web hiện nay cảm thấy việc nhận gửi e-mail là việc làm thường ngày. Thế nên, chỉ cần chạm nhẹ vào biểu tượng e-mail để mở mục “All Inboxes”. Sau đó, điện thoại sẽ tự động check và hiện tất cả các e-mail mới đến.

Tắt sóng radio nào không dùng đến: iPhone cho phép người dùng tắt mạng 3G nếu không cần dùng đến. Nhờ đó iPhone sẽ tiết kiệm được rất nhiều pin. Tương tự với Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, và GPS, người dùng cũng nên tắt bỏ khi chưa cần sử dụng. Đặc biệt hệ thống định vị GPS ngốn rất nhiều pin nếu nó được “mở cửa” cho chạy. Và, nếu ở những nơi có sóng di động yếu thì hãy chuyển iPhone sang chế độ máy bay (Airplane). Chế độ máy bay sẽ tắt chức năng Wi-Fi nhưng người dùng vẫn có thể chơi game, đọc sách e-book, xem phim và nghe nhạc trên điện thoại.

Tắt các ứng dụng nền (background). Không ai ép buộc bạn phải làm điều này tuy nhiên, khi iPhone đã có chức năng multitasking thì rất có thể nhiều ứng dụng sẽ ngấm ngầm chạy mà bạn không biết, khiến pin nhanh chóng bị cạn kiệt. Chẳng hạn như Skype, tiêu tốn rất nhiều pin khi đang chờ cuộc gọi. Để kiểm tra xem có ứng dụng nào đang bí mật chạy trên điện thoại thì bấm và giữ nút Home khoảng 1 giây, sau đó chọn tắt các ứng dụng ngầm.

Đặt chế độ màn hình có thể điều chỉnh tự động: Giảm độ sáng màn hình là điều người dùng nên làm. Tuy nhiên, cách hiệu quả nhất là để máy ở chế độ tự động điều chỉnh ánh sáng màn hình tùy thuộc vào môi trường xung quanh.

Đồng hộ iPhone theo định kỳ: Người dùng nên thường xuyên đồng bộ hóa iPhone và máy tính để cài đặt hệ điều hành và các bản nâng cấp firmware mới nhấ cho máy. Một số bản update của Apple cũng đã cải thiện đáng kể thời lượng pin cho dòng điện thoại đình đám.
